19 AUG 2013 - Salt mines just don't sound like a place where someone could go to have a good time. The salt mine just outside Salzburg, doesn't fit that description at all. We loved the salt mine! To start out your tour, you get to change into these awesome clothes to prevent your existing clothes from getting dirty, or worse, getting salt on them.
There are two huge slides located in the mine. Long ago, workers in the mine used to use them to either get down into the mine or help themselves walk out. Heidi and Eli thought the slide was awesome! Another highlight of the mine is the underground boat ride. Those were two of the highlights of the tour for us. Oh, and the salt was tasty too!
The mine crosses the German/Austrian border underground in two different places. Coming back into Austria from Germany, Eve was a little concerned. She didn't want all of the fun underground adventure to end!
