29 SEP 2013 - Feeding Beber monkeys all the popcorn they want... What's there not to like about that!?! That's the short version of what happens at Affenberg Salem. There are over 200 monkeys roaming around an enclosed area where the general public is allowed to enter and feed the monkeys. It's a whole new spin on things.
Affenberg Salem is located south of Stuttgart and just north of Lake Constance.
At first, there is a bit of nervousness around this experience. We were standing really close to our kids when the first monkey approached, but soon, you realize that as long as your kids aren't doing anything crazy (which has been known to happen), they'll be just fine.
Eve couldn't seem to get enough popcorn to hand out. She just loved those monkeys!
You could definitely see the pecking order among the monkeys. The little monkeys approached the people on the look out for the bigger monkeys. This little guy managed to find Eli.
The big fat cat monkeys were fat for a reason. They enjoyed a lot of popcorn.
