Berchtesgaden, Germany

22 AUG 2013 - Berchtesgaden is simply stunning. We spent nearly all of our time there on the Koningsee ferry. We took the ferry all the way to the other end of the lake, but the boat made a brief stop to drop off passengers here at the Bartholma Church.

 Berchtesgaden, Germany

Once we reached the end of Koningsee, we hiked up to Obersee. Such a magnificent view! Happy kids and awesome scenery!

Grandma Johnson and Kjersti decided to take a break, but Heidi, Eli, Eve, and Cody kept going to the other side of Obersee. There, we let the kids wade into the water...

...and that led to Eli jumping in... again. The fact that this water was cold enough to make a grown man cry didn't seem to phase Eli! He's a bone fide Mountain Lake swimmer!

There was a large pasture on the other end of Obersee where cows grazed and they sold fresh milk. A true experience in the German Alps!

On our way back to Koningsee, we took a brief rest on a wooden bench with a fantastic view. It wasn't easy to get these guys to turn around for a picture.

It was an unforgettable day with our family.
