19 AUG 2013 - The palace is an early Baroque villa of palatial size, near Morzg, a southern district of the city of Salzburg,Austria. It was built in 1613-19 by Markus Sittikus von Hohenems, Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg, and named for the "clear spring" that supplied it. Hellbrunn was only meant for use as a day residence in summer, as the Archbishop usually returned to Salzburg in the evening, therefore, there is no bedroom in Hellbrunn. The Archbishop enjoyed messing with his guests so he had a number of fountains installed that would squirt water at them. Needless to say, the kids loved this place.
Eli and Kjersti both volunteered to sit at the table as the host demonstrated how dinner could resemble a good old fashion Johnson water fight!
It didn't take long to realize that you had to keep your guard up all the time or you might just get squirted. Eve made a good look out...
...but she wasn't always successful in dodging the trick fountains.
