9 NOV 2013 - We lucked out with a beautiful fall day and decided to drive up to Heidelberg to spend the day. The city has a wonderful old castle overlooking the beautiful valley below.

There were plenty of places near the castle to view the spectacular city below.
The main courtyard inside the castle is pretty impressive as well. part of it has been completely restored while other parts have only the facade.
Inside the castle are some pretty impressive wine barrels. Of the three we saw, this was one of the small ones.
Down near the Neckar river, we strolled across the beautiful bridge and enjoyed the warm sunset.
