6 APR 2013 - On our way home from Milan, we stayed the night in the Swiss Alps at a little mom and pop hotel in Gurtnellen, Switzerland. A very warm and friendly older woman ran the hotel and restaurant and made one of the best meals we had on our trip. The vegetable soup and orange glazed chicken even received high praise from our kids (the toughest critics of all). The hotel was quaint, but definitely old school. The rooms didn't even have TVs. That's part of what made it so memorable. The weather wasn't great while we were there, so we didn't have much of a view of the valley or the mountains we stayed in, but that's ok. We'll never forget the food and the hospitality.
