31 MAR 13 - Before we knew we would be stationed in Germany, Grandma and Grandpa Strong booked a week long cruise down the Rhine River scheduled to end on 30 March in Basel, Switzerland. On 31 March, our family met them in Basel, loaded them into our van and we drove to Genoa, Italy. On our way, from Switzerland into Italy, we drove through the Alps through the three and a half mile long Great St. Bernard Tunnel. When we popped out of the tunnel in Italy, the sun was shining and there were skiers all around. We just had to stop, have lunch, and take some pictures.
The views were just so spectacular, we just had to make sure we had a good family photo as well.
