Castle Lichtenstein

2 MAR 13 - Lichtenstein Castle is situated on a cliff located near Honau in the Swabian Alb, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It's about an hour south from where we live. The day we visited, there had been a light snow earlier in the day. The snow and cold made for a beautiful setting.

We arrived just in time to take the last tour of the castle, in German. Even though we didn't understand much, it was still very impressive to look around. We were a little surprised at just how cold it was that day. So we ended up making our journey around the outside of the castle short and sweet!

If Eve could have found a way to bring this statue home, she would have. There were a number of really interesting sculptures located all around the castle courtyard area. This one is holding up a stone bench.

The cave was small, but Eli's smile was big! What a handsome young man!

Eve: I just threw a snowball off the castle wall down on the village! This is so fun I could do it all daynight (NOTE: Daynight: A real word Eve uses frequently to describe a very long period of time)...
